Thank you for your interest in joining Team Special Forces! Please take a moment to read over this page as it contains important information about the recruitment process. If you have any questions about this process, please contact us on the forum or by email.
It's imperative that you meet our minimum expectations in order to be a serious candidate for acceptance into the team. Be honest with yourself as you read these since it will be obvious to us if you do not meet these requirements.
Above all else, you must demonstrate respect for others, honor, and a mature mindset. Skills can be taught, but attitude will determine how successful you will be with our team. Ask yourself these questions:
This is a team, not a group of individuals. You will need to be able to communicate with others effectively, listen to others, and follow instructions. People who won't listen are dead weight on the team and do not last for long. Think about these questions:
Developing your skills will enhance your gameplay. We take great effort to help you achieve this goal and you need to be able to work with us. How ready are you to learn and help others?
Joining our team is a serious commitment that you should fully understand before you apply. We are looking for long-term, active players that won't quit when times get rough. Our leadership is commited to you, and you need to be commited to the team.
Please take some time to reflect on these questions that you have been asked. Although this list isn't comprehensive, it should give you a good idea of whether or not you will easily fit in to our community.
This team is not for everyone. If you don't meet these expectations you should not apply. There are some people who will not integrate well and only cause problems either now or in the future. We will make every effort to weed out these people to ensure that your community runs as it should.
So if you're ready to take the next step and join our team, you'll need to know the process of how to join. Oftentimes we have many people trying to join at once, so these procedures have been developed over time to keep the process sane and manageable.
The first thing you will do is fill out an application. It will ask you for some basic information (like your name, email, game handle, etc.) but also ask you about your motivation for joining and some more specific information about your game experience.
When you submit your application you will get a transaction number. You should keep this number for future reference. Our staffers will read your application and get back to you by email in a few days. Due to the volume of incoming applications, it is not always possible to get a same-day response. We will make every effort to get to your application as soon as we can.
You should post on our forum immediately after filing your application both to introduce yourself and to let us know to check our email for your application. Please include your transaction number in this post so it will be easier to find.
If you do not receive a reply to your application in more than two days, you should post on our forum or contact the Officer in Command of Recruitment Operations. Please include the transaction number from your application if you have it.
The Officer in Command of Recruitment Operations and the Commanding Officer of the division you applied to ultimately will decide if you are accepted or not. You may be contacted by email to provide more information about yourself or to answer a question that the staff has about you. Try to respond as soon as possible.
An interview is required for all applicants. Interviews are either conducted in our TeamSpeak server or by instant messenger or chat room. You will be contacted by email to set up an interview.
Throughout this entire process, you should be actively playing with [SF] members on game servers so they get to know you and your style. Good recommendations from existing members based on playing with you go a long way to distinguish yourself from the crowd.
At the end, you will be emailed with the final decision of the Officer in Command of Recruitment Operations and the Commanding Officer of the division you applied to regarding your acceptance.
All newly accepted recruits are subject to a probation period that is at least two weeks long. During this time, you may be dismissed from the team immediately if you commit any misconduct or are not actively playing with us. Your first impression with your new teammates is critical, so be sure to put in as much effort as you can during your probation period.
When your probation period is over you will be contacted by your Commanding Officer. You will be graduated to full member status and receive a roster position. After this point it is assumed that you know enough to function in the team on your own without assitance, so if you aren't sure of something, this is the time to ask about it.
